I am running for a second term in the US House of Representatives because, as a Detroit native, I know that the people of Southeastern Michigan are worth fighting for.
When I was 19 years old I lost my family, my college scholarship, and my job. I was able to get back on my feet thanks to a job created by Congress through the CETA program. During my first term in Congress I worked hard to provide as many people as possible with similar opportunities. I sponsored bills addressing foreclosure, joblessness and debt. If elected to represent the new 14th I will continue fighting to make sure that our government acts in the best interest of the people it was created to serve.

We have to think creatively to revitalize our neighborhoods, making them safer and better places for new jobs. Ending unfair and de-stabilizing mortgage foreclosures is one solution. We need to support young people who go to college by finding ways for them to end the burden of huge student debts. Learn more here.
